About us
Flour & Folk is a family bakery. Two sisters — the Olsen girls — mill the wheat, bake the bread and pack it for you, with Mom and Dad helping in the background.
It started with a small stone mill in our kitchen and a question: what does bread taste like when the flour is only minutes old? The answer was good enough to share with our neighbours.
It's also our first real business. We keep proper books, pay back the family loan that bought the mill, pay ourselves for the work we do, and save and give away part of every week's profit. Every loaf you buy is part of that lesson — thank you.
What we believe
- Real bread needs only a few things: wheat, water, salt, a little sugar and yeast.
- Fresh flour tastes better, so we mill our own just before we bake.
- Neighbours should know who bakes their bread.
Where to get our bread
We bake on Tuesdays and Fridays. Order here, then collect your bread in Glen Austin, Midrand at a time we agree with you. Delivery to Midrand and Centurion is coming later.
